"Master Chen Zhonhua is a well-known lineage holder of Chen Style Taijiquan.  He is the official International Standard Bearer of the Practical Method of Chen Style Taijiquan under Grandmaster Hong Junsheng.  He is also a 2nd generation master of Hunyuantaiji under the renowned Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang.

Master Chen Zhonghua is the President and Head Instructor of the international Hunyuantaiji Academy with branches all over Canada, the United States, Brazil, and Ireland. Recently, Master Chen opened a new school at the mountain resort of Daqingshan in Shandong, China.

Master Chen was originally from Weifang, Shandong province. He has a degree in English in China, and a Masters Degree in Education in Canada. This background provides the ideal combination of mastery of Chen Style Taijiquan and fluent communication skills in the English language.  This is why Master Chen’s workshops are so popular.  He is widely acknowledged as one of the best proponents and teacher of Chen Style Taijiquan in North America.  As a matter of fact, Master Chen Zhonghua is in town not only to perform at this Gala but also to conduct a workshop tomorrow.

James Chan will assist Master Chen Zhonghua in his display of push hand skills tonight.  James has over 30 years of training in the Chinese martial arts, however it was not until 1998 that he met Master Chen Zhonghua and was deeply impressed with his skills, knowledge and ability to teach. In 2004 James applied and became one of Master Chen's disciples. James is devoted to the Practical Method of Chen Style Taijiquan and is the Chen Taiji workshop organizer of Ottawa.  He brings Master Chen to the capital region 3 to 4 times a year.
